Jo Sterritt
Quality and Operational Assurance Director
Jo’s focus at FDQ is on the development, maintenance and continual improvement of our quality arrangements and their link to end-point assessment and qualification regulation.
Her daily work involves the constant monitoring and sampling of our operations against the regulators’ conditions of recognition. By necessity the environment in which an awarding organisation operates requires a risk-based approach to the management and reporting of our operations. Upon the identification of potential risk, Jo devises critical improvement plans to streamline operational efficiency and guard end-point assessment and qualification standards. This action ensures that needs of regulator, customer and learner are safeguarded.
Jo plays a key role in the development of FDQ’s assessment instruments and supporting documentation – ensuring valid and reliable assessment at all times.
Jo’s depth of expertise in quality arrangements, risk-based systems, and adhering to the strict requirements of regulatory bodies makes her a natural fit for this role.
Besides this, Jo also has a great deal of experience working with food and drink employers to provide best fit qualifications to meet their specific commercial and skills needs. She is also responsible for the development of the national occupational standards (NOS) for the food industry; these standards inform our qualifications. More recently Jo has spent some time developing her own skills, completing the Postgraduate Certificate in Educational Assessment and Examinations.
