Carl has worked within education for over 20 years, in roles from an assessor within a training provider, through to quality assurance director of an awarding organisation. During this time he specialised in assessment and quality assurance of vocational qualifications/ apprenticeship standards, external quality assurance, compliance, malpractice, and risk management.
From 2014 to 2021 Carl worked as an educational consultant and training provider, helping organisations with their training and organisational needs. Projects included assisting Open Awards with their EQA requirements as the EQA provider of choice for ifATE, where he says he was ‘proud to be recognised as an Ofqual External Expert’.
As Quality & Performance Manager. Carl’s primary objective will be ensuring the quality of delivery and assessment of FDQ’s end-point assessments.
When not at work Carl enjoys spending time with his family, coaching his son’s U11 football team and as a Manchester United supporter, attending a home game together whenever they can.
