Many centres will be aware that Ofqual has issued guidance for summer 2023 Level 3 qualification results issue. This will align results issue for Vocational Technical Qualifications to the more traditional academic qualification results timeline.
Ofqual requires some Awarding Organisations (AOs) that offer Level 3 qualifications allocated UCAS points to work to the timeline for results issue. Details of these AOs and the timeline is set out here: Level 3 VTQ results Action Plan: measures for 2023 - GOV.UK (www.gov.uk).
As FDQ’s Level 3 qualifications, do not attract UCAS points, they are not listed by Ofqual. However, FDQ staff know that some of our learners may still want to use their FDQ qualification for progression to new Higher Education and Further Education (HE/FE) programmes.
FDQ would like to make sure that all of our Level 3 learners receive their results and certificates to allow them to progress as planned. Some learners taking the following FDQ qualifications may wish to progress to HE/FE:
FDQ Level 3 Diploma for Professional Chef
FDQ Level 3 Diploma in Professional Bakery
FDQ Level 2 Certificate in Professional Butchery
FDQ Level 3 Advanced Certificate in Professional Cake Decoration
FDQ Level 3 Diploma in Food Technology
FDQ Level 3 Diploma in Food Technology and Management
FDQ Level 4 and 5 Diploma in Artisan Baking and Business Skills
Centres are kindly reminded to plan to claim results promptly for their learners (allowing time for External Quality Assurance Activity to be completed). Please direct any centre queries to fdq@fdq.org.uk or phone 0113 859 1266 and ask to speak to Helen King or Jo Sterritt.
