Level 3 Food and Drink Technical Operator End-point Assessment ST0196
Technical operators work in food manufacturing, often with supervisory responsibility for food production lines. They have an in-depth knowledge of food production, quality systems and health and safety in the food industry. Their knowledge of Continuous Improvement techniques will be used for improving productivity. A Technical Operator may progress to more senior technical or management roles.

The Food and Drink Technical Operator End-point Assessment (EPA) consists of three elements:

-
A written knowledge test answered through a combination of multiple choice questions and extended answer questions
-
A workplace based practical observation of skills
-
A presentation and interview, lasting approximately 1 hour, 30 minutes in total

The assessments must be taken in this order and apprentices must pass each component before taking the next. The end-point assessment must be completed within twelve weeks of the EPA gateway.

The standard charge for EPA is 15-20% of the IfATE maximum funding rate, to view FDQ's Fee's Policy for AP05 & AP06
