Some of the qualifications listed below offer a broad range of baking or cake decorating skills, which may be put to use in a variety of bakery or confectionary environments. Others offer the opportunity to develop the skills and knowledge required for a specific environment, such as an artisan bakery, a supermarket bakery or an automated bakery plant.

This 'Award' qualification is designed for learners who are preparing to work in cake decoration or confectionery roles, or wish to continue in further learning or training. It is designed to both develop and recognise achievement in cake decoration skills, knowledge and understanding in the context of confectionery operations.
