Proposed closure of the SASE Food and Drink Framework – Make your voice heard

19/11/2017 - Posted in: General news

The NSAFD, in their capacity as an Issuing Authority, recently announced plans to withdraw the popular Food and Drink Framework from 30 April 2018. FDQ and other awarding organisations are concerned that employers and training providers have not been adequately consulted. Many of you may want to retain a choice between framework pathway or apprenticeship standard, until suitable new Standards are properly established.

The Education and Skills Funding Agency policy on removal of apprenticeship frameworks could allow the framework to remain funded until 2019. A meeting between awarding organisations, led by FDQ and hosted by the ESFA and the NSAFD, is scheduled for the end of November to review the NSAFD’s decision. A vital element of this meeting will be industry opinion.
