Helping your learners stay on track
22/4/2020 - Posted in: General news
In light of the Government’s latest three-week extension of the COVID-19 stay home lockdown FDQ is unable to conduct EPAs on site until mid-May at the earliest. We’re looking into innovative ways of conducting elements of EPAs remotely; such as knowledge tests via an online system and interviews using video/audio technology. Even so, it’s likely that Government measures imposed to control the spread of Coronavirus will cause EPAs for most standards to be delayed, until the country returns to some semblance of normality. So in the meantime we’ve also been working on how we can help you maintain your apprentices’ progress.
We understand that many of your apprentices’ may be worried about falling behind during this time. To help apprentices stay on track we’ve produced short refresher bulletins by apprenticeship standard to guide them with learning during the COVID period. Each gives a handy reminder of the key elements of their EPA and tips for how they can keep learning in preparation for it. They should be used in conjunction with their Apprentice Guides and for more in-depth learning, the Employer and Training Provider Handbooks. As you know these contain sample questions and more detailed information about each assessment which can help your apprentices’ get ready for their EPAs when the time comes.
Anyone who hasn’t received this support information can request it by emailing EPA@fdq.org.uk stating which apprenticeship standard they require.
For any other enquiries please email us at fdq@FDQ.org.uk and we’ll be happy to help.
