Feedback from Industry Survey and NSAFD decision on future of Food and Drink Framework

1/12/2017 - Posted in: General news

A huge thanks to all of you who took the time to complete our industry survey on the closure of the Food and Drink Framework in April 2018. Although 87.5% of you voted against the closure of the framework, the NSAFD in their position as issuing authority, have chosen to press ahead with their plans to close it in April.

Nothing changes immediately – you’ll be pleased to know that you can still register for all the Food and Drink framework pathways right up till 30 April 2018. And we’ll be publishing a complete schedule of our current plans for apprenticeship qualifications and end- point assessment in January.

In the meantime we are busy putting the finishing touches to our new Bakery Diploma. Thanks in part to your survey feedback it will contain optional units to cater for specialist cake makers and decorators, and still meet all the requirements of the Bakery Standard.

End-point assessment tools are also well in progress for both the Bakery Diploma and the Diploma in Food and Drink Operations.
