Congratulations to our Apprentice of the Month, Matthew Hawes, of H Johnson and Sons in Thrapston, Kettering.
Matthew is only 17 years of age and began study for his Level 2 Butcher Standard Apprenticeship with M.E.A.T Ipswich last November. His assessor, Kevin Jaggard, said of him,
‘Matthew has made consistent, good progress with his on-line learning objectives and targets. During practicals he always ask for information and guidance and reflects on what he does, all his assignments are full of information. Matthew always look to improve in whatever he does and goes the extra mile. Supported by an experienced team he is encouraged and stretched. He has a solid career in the meat industry ahead of him.’
Matthew’s employer at H Johnson and Sons added,
‘Matthew is a great apprentice, he works really well and gives 100%, he fits in well within the team, he is very competent and thinks he will be a great butcher and make a success of himself.’
