Thorntons recognise CQM Training & Consultancy Ltd’s contribution to their spectacular increase of 60% in net profits.
Thorntons partly attributed this success to CQM T&C’s 3 year Food Manufacturing Excellence (FME) programme of training and delivery with their Operations staff. The programme delivered over 3 years trained 80 individuals based at the Derby based high street confectioner.

We are pleased to announce that we are running an FDQ Centre Meeting & CPD Event on Wednesday 12th November. This will provide critical support to our centres in dealing with the reforms which are on the horizon.
The event is focussed on the reforms taking place in education, training, qualifications and funding.

The new butchery apprenticeship standard developed over the last 7 months by a range of employers including Morrisons, Aubrey Allen, Walter Smith Fine Foods, Fairfax Meadow and Tulip Ltd has been formally published today following ministerial approval.

Harrods has become the UK’s first retailer to launch a nationally-recognised qualification in gourmet food, working with FDQ. Harrods Gourmet Food Academy is a bespoke educational programme developed with the FDQ team and accredited as a Level 3 qualification. This will provide Harrods Sales Associates expert training across a range of luxury food categories within the store’s iconic Food Halls.

Morrisons is the first food retailer whose colleagues have achieved the Welfare of Animals at the Time Of Killing (WATOK) qualifications.
The WATOK qualification assesses and confirms the competence of individuals in ensuring the highest possible standards of welfare of animals at the point of slaughter.

The Alliance for Bakery Students & Trainees (ABST) annual conference, held at Alton Towers, Staffordshire, saw UCB’s budding bakers compete against their peers in several categories, including bread and fermented goods, pastry, confectionery and cake decoration.
Judges awarded marks based on the goods’ appearance, skill levels, taste, technique and workmanship.

On Saturday 26th July, our Quality Coordinator, Yvette married her Fiance James at a stunning country hotel in Yorkshire.
Congratulations Yvette and James!
Yvette is taking some well earned holiday with her new husband this week. But will be back with us on 4th August, before she jets off on Honeymoon in September.

The Alliance for Bakery Students & Trainees (ABST) annual conference, held at Alton Towers, Staffordshire recently saw a number of FDQ centres achieving victory against tough competition.
FDQ centres and their Professional Bakery learners won a huge number of prized trophies and accolades, across a range of disciplines.

We have extended our FDQ Level 3 Proficiency in Fresh Produce Industry Skills qualifications.
The following qualifications now have a registration end date of: 31st December 2015 and certification end date of 31st December 2018.
