FDQ officially approved as an Apprentice Assessment Organisation

We are delighted to announce that FDQ has been officially approved by the SFA as an Apprentice Assessment Organisation (AAO), listed on the Register of AAOs. 

This means that as of January 2016 there will be whole new arm to our business. To this end, clients will see us roll out an array of specialist apprentice end-point assessment products and services to food industry centres old and new.

Watok Update - October 2015

Finally, after almost 34 months of transitional procrastination it looks like Government will act to implement Watok Regulations in England in early/mid-November. With grandparent rights running out on the 8th December (end of the transitional provisions in Article 29 (2) of Council Regulation (EC) 1099/2009), there is very limited time for the Food Standards Agency (FSA) to issue Certificates of Competence.

So it’s no surprise that this year’s event will be taking a look at key developments over the coming year; how these might impact on provision and potential solutions.

 

Verner Wheelock celebrates 25 years!

A few weeks ago I was fortunate enough to attend a celebration of Verner Wheelock Associates (or VWA as some of you may know it as), welcoming its 25th year in business, in a picturesque setting in Skipton. There was a wonderful afternoon of well wishes, stories and the insightful history of where Verner Wheelock began. We took a trip down memory lane by revisiting old photos, staff and learners alike. It really was a well organised and poignant celebration of their resounding success.

Dunbia Academy Graduates meet Rory Best!

Seven FDQ learners have recently graduated through Dunbia’s Butchery Academy. The learners are now fully skilled in their achievement of the FDQ Level 2 Certificate for Proficiency in Meat & Poultry Industry Skills (QCF). 

The achievements of the 7 learners were recognised at a recent presentation ceremony. Dunbia’s Brand Ambassador; Irish Rugby Union International Rory Best, presented the awards.
