Verner Wheelock students achieve outstanding results for Auditing courses

1/4/2016 Posted in: General news

Food industry training experts Verner Wheelock first began running FDQ auditing courses in September 2013. Over the past two years they have trained over 500 delegates in Auditing Skills courses, with extremely impressive results.

Verner Wheelock developed their own suite of auditing courses several years ago because they felt that accredited courses at the time were based far too much on theory alone. They lacked the necessary practical elements to give delegates the skills and confidence to perform effective audits themselves.

Watok Update - October 2015

1/10/2015 Posted in: General news

Finally, after almost 34 months of transitional procrastination it looks like Government will act to implement Watok Regulations in England in early/mid-November. With grandparent rights running out on the 8th December (end of the transitional provisions in Article 29 (2) of Council Regulation (EC) 1099/2009), there is very limited time for the Food Standards Agency (FSA) to issue Certificates of Competence.

FDQ conference 18th November 2015

1/10/2015 Posted in: General news

We are pleased to confirm that the date for the FDQ Annual Centre Conference is Wednesday 18th November 2015 at The Village Urban Resort Hotel, Leeds.

It’s a time of considerable change in learning and skills! The provision of food sector training and qualifications challenges our skills in efficient and effective delivery. So it’s no surprise that this year’s event will be taking a look at key developments over the coming year; how these might impact on provision and potential solutions.

Verner Wheelock celebrates 25 years!

10/9/2015 Posted in: General news

A few weeks ago I was fortunate enough to attend a celebration of Verner Wheelock Associates (or VWA as some of you may know it as), welcoming its 25th year in business, in a picturesque setting in Skipton. There was a wonderful afternoon of well wishes, stories and the insightful history of where Verner Wheelock began. We took a trip down memory lane by revisiting old photos, staff and learners alike. It really was a well organised and poignant celebration of their resounding success.

Adult Funded qualifications

The Skills Funding Agency (SFA) has published the register of qualifications that will be funded for adults in 2015-16. We have ensured that those qualifications which are able to meet the SFA Business Rules are still available for funding.

I have no hesitation in choosing FDQ for food safety. They stand head and shoulders above the rest.
